Nancy Yachnes

Nancy Yachnes is a passionate portrait artist  and cinematographer.  She designed the curriculum for, and taught the inaugural college-level photography class at TTI.  She authored the  children’s book, The Legend of the Dell River.
Let’s ask Nancy what sparks her passion:
“Growing up, I had a mom and a sister who were the shape of beanpoles.  Next to them, I always felt fat and unattractive.  The thing is, I look back at pictures from my childhood, and I see that I was a normal size kid, albeit a little chubby.  I don’t want kids to have to wait until they grow up to realize their beauty.  I want to help everyone celebrate their “beautiful” NOW!  This is such a passion for me that I wrote a book about it, The Legend of the Dell River.“

Here I am as an awkward 8-yr-old in a Boutique Fashion Show. Imagine how a little gentle posing could have made me look more flattering…
